Last Saturday March 16th, I went with my team to the WCPN 90.3 Ideastream Radio Station. We helped the radio answering the phone getting donations during their pledge drive. In exchange, the name of the academy “Eduardo Barros jiu-jitsu academy" was mentioned 5 times during the Garrison Keillor program from 6 to 8PM.
Congratulations to Jay Nance who won two bronze metals at the Jiu Jitsu Pan American Games in California. Jay won third place in his weight division, as well as third place in the absolute purple belt division. There were over 30 competitors in Jay's division and he won four matches in one day to place in third. Great job Jay!
Student Frankie Fasline won first place on his division at the Joslin's 2007 Canadian open Grappling Championships on Nov 11th 2007. We apolotize in getting this news up so late, but we were only able to get details this past week. Frankie won the advanced division 129-146 lbl. He won 3 fights and 2 by submission. Great job Frankie!!!

On January 14th of this year, Dudu promoted Mitchell Peters to the Purple Belt and Matt Waterhouse to the Brown Belt. Matt is now Dudu's highest ranking student. Great job to both of them and all their hard work in picking up their new ranks! On January 26th, Paul Bartholet won 1st Place at the Michigan Jiu-Jitsu Championship as well as taking 1st place at the Strongstyle Tournament on February 16th. Additionally, Frank Fasline won 1st place in his division at the Arnold Classic in Columbus this past weekend. Congratulations for starting out the year with so many wins!
Nate Black won 1st Place in his division at the Naga Ohio on December 1st. Ali Cardenas and Zac Stanley both took 2nd place. For all three students, this was their first time competing. Congratulations and great first showing to Nate, Ali and Zac!!!
